Checking in on those nagging symptoms
As school returns and summer starts to give way to fall, many of us return to normal routines and (mostly) predictable schedules.
What might not always be easy to predict is what those common health symptoms might mean. MyChart users have convenient feature to get guidance on what to do when not feeling well. It’s called Symptom Checker and it offers an easy, fast way to learn what next steps to take.
  • Is that cough a cold or COVID?
  • What if that sore throat is Strep Throat?
  • Is this high fever concerning?
Choose a common condition from the options and through a series of short questions, your answers will provide a recommendation for care.

You can choose from the following:
  • COVID
  • Influenza
  • Urinary Tract Infection
  • Strep Throat
  • General
If a visit with a provider is recommended, several time-saving virtual choices are available in MyChart. The Virtual Walk-In Clinic and E-Visits both deliver high-quality care without leaving your home. In-person visits are always an option too, during normal operating hours. Check with your Parkview primary care provider or clinic for hours.

Remember Symptom Checker in MyChart the next time you have symptoms that might need closer attention. Look for it at the top of the MyChart menu, underneath Find Care.
Secure your MyChart account.
If you have ever had your personal information stolen or even compromised, you know how frustrating and concerning it can be. Personal and private health information stored in your MyChart account is secured with a password. When this is combined with what is called two-step, two-factor or even multi-factor verification, your account protection is stronger! Parkview Health highly recommends all users activate two-step verification for an added security step.

It’s easy and takes only a few minutes. Look for this feature under Security Settings in the Menu.
