Stay connected with two-way text messaging
One of the preferred ways of communicating today is with the convenience, speed, and ease of sending a text or SMS message. New technology at Parkview gives greater functionality for texting, including two-way messaging for appointment confirmation, rescheduling, and cancelation. You can even interact with billing updates, having the option to make payments directly from a message.
These updates are made possible with a new service that also has a new number. Starting October 1, 2024, Parkview’s text message number is 63296. Adding this number to your contacts will easily identify messages from Parkview Health.
If you haven’t yet signed up for Parkview text messages, subscribe today in MyChart and stay connected by text for:
  • Appointment confirmation, rescheduling, and cancellation
  • Billing updates
  • Test results
  • Pharmacy updates
  • MyChart notifications
  • and more!
When you subscribe from the link above, you can also select your preferences for other communication methods inside the Communication Preferences feature. These settings apply to all Parkview communications and while you may be asked about these preferences periodically when checking in for an appointment, MyChart users can update these at any time. Take a moment to review and update your preferences.
What's new in MyChart?
Here is a look at updated features inside your Parkview MyChart account.

Messaging/notifications
  • Receive push notifications when assigned a new care plan or first task.
  • When you receive a Ticket Pass for scheduling an appointment, you can now choose to be notified when an opening becomes available when currently there is no availability.
  • Additionally, low availability notifications are sent for appointments to be scheduled with a ticket.
  • Your provider can now let you know if they can’t promptly respond to a MyChart message in the event of being out of office.

New look
  • New insurance benefit sections display progress bars on how close you are to meeting your plan’s deductible and maximum out-of-pocket amount.
  • Cleaner look with more intuitive controls is available for entering personal details in the Personal Information feature.
  • Redesigned Health Summary displays a broader view of your health information.
  • Track My Health features improved viewing for trending graphs and aligned look across both web and mobile platforms.

Security
  • Choose to use a preferred authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or native iOS authenticator. Verification through an authenticator app is more secure because codes are generated by the app and cannot be intercepted by malicious parties in transit. This new option is available in addition to using text or email and will soon be a required security step for all Parkview MyChart users starting January 2025, which helps protect unauthorized account access.

General
  • If you have a triage call with a nurse, that call summary will now appear on the Visits tab along with other visits
  • E-Visits now include fewer steps and can be completed from within Symptom Checker instead of having to change areas in MyChart.
  • Patient-friendly immunizations names have been added for clearer, more accessible immunization information.

Self check-in kiosks
Additionally, for self check-in kiosks, which is an extension of MyChart, new updates are also available.

  • All payment steps are now all on one screen.
  • Patients can choose to securely save credit card information for faster check-in at the next appointment.
